The session will begin with a classroom-based ballistic theory presentation delivered by Mr. Scott Javins, followed by three hours of live-fire FBI Ballistic training at a TBD farm location in Collingwood, Ontario.
The training will cover all logistics and materials required to conduct an FBI Protocol Gelatin Shoot. Ammunition platforms to be demonstrated will include 9mm Luger, 5.56 NATO, .300 Blackout (should service weapon systems change), .308 Winchester, and 6.5 Creedmoor.
Attending tactical officers will receive instruction on the evolution of duty ammunition and will observe the FBI testing protocol conducted with various ammunition types. This will allow participants to evaluate terminal ballistic performance and determine whether their current duty ammunition meets FBI standards. The gelatin shoot will be conducted by Frank Taylor.
All attendees will receive a certificate confirming completion of four hours of ballistics training.
